Surfacer Modifier

Surfacer is a Topology Modifier that generates mesh surfaces from splines. Surfacer combines in a single modifier the following algorithms: Cap, Extrude, Bevel, Profile and Revolve.

Surfacer::Cap

Cap generates a cap surface from a closed spline.


Surfacer::Extrude

Extrude generates cap and side surfaces. The sides of the extrude mesh can be shaped using the Border attribute:

Border : 0.0
The border is straight.

Border : -0.5
The border curves inwards with a circular arc shape. A value of -1.0 generates a half-circle border shape.

Border : 1.0
With positive border values the sides curve outwards in a circular arc shape. A value of 1.0 generates a half-circle border shape.

Border : 2.0
Values higher than 1.0 make the border go beyond the cap surfaces.

Surfacer::Bevel

Bevel generates a surface where the border shape can be controlled with 5 values, the height, top outline, top radius, bottom outline and top outline. The shape of the side is always smooth and continues.

The outline and radius values are equal for top and bottom.

The outline values are not equal in top and bottom, generating a smooth filleted shape.


Surfacer::Profile

Profile allows the user to pick any Bezier Object in the scene to be used as the border shape.


Surfacer::Revolve

Revolve generates a surface of revolution around an axis that can be moved and rotated.
